JOB RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE

National Development Coordinator of the USBSF

I.          JOB RESPONSIBILITY:  The National Development Coordinator reports to the High Performance Director.  The National Development Coordinator will assist the High Performance Director and work in conjunction with the National Team Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches to provide quality coaching and program management for the US athletes below the level of the World Cup Team, primarily at the Park City track location.

II.            PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION:  The National Development Coordinator is responsible for providing coaching and management for US athletes below the World Cup level.  The National Development Coordinator will be based in Park City and will also be responsible for assisting the Utah Olympic Park coaches with quality management and coaching for the Park City program and helping to build and annual presence for the USBSF in Park City.

III.          SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES:

  • Maintain a year-round office in Park City.
  • Provide coaching for athletes training in Park City in coordination with the Utah Olympic Park.
  • Provide coaching or manage coaching for athletes on the America’s Cup, Intercontinental Cup and Junior World events.
  • Assist with travel arrangements for athletes on the Intercontinental Cup, Europa Cup, and America’s Cup circuits.
  • Coordinate with the Lake Placid coaches and the USBSF program staff to provide consistent coaching for USBSF programs.
  • Teach skills and evaluate skills of developing athletes in a manner consistent with other USBSF programs.
  • Initiate fundraising events or programs.
  • Coordinate with the UOP and ORDA track staff and maintain a positive, effective and professional working relationship.
  • Coordinate with the US National Team Coaching Staff to monitor strength and conditioning and off-season training needs of US athletes.
  • Maintain a comprehensive year round athlete recruiting program.
  • Create and Implement Recruitment events.
  • Assist the National Team Head Coaches in providing coaching for the National Team as requested.
  • Act as a positive and professional representative of the USBSF.
  • Teach USBSF skeleton driving schools in Park City and/or Lake Placid.
  • Assist the USBSF and Utah Olympic Park in the management of USBSF events in Park City.
  • Provide management for the USBSF fantasy camps and ice intros.
  • Maintain and a current knowledge of FIBT skeleton rules and regulations.
  • Track and record expenses for USBSF finance staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.
